Gujrat pollution control board was established on 15 october 1974 as per the provisions of Water (prevention and control of pollution) act, 1974 . its mission is to make Gujrat pollution free ,it is none other than GPCB aiming to make Gujrat an epitome of sustainable development . its head office in state capital Gandhi Nagar it has 22 regional offices . It regulates industries , municipality ,health care unit , and CEPTS( common effluent  treatment plant)

GBCB categorised entities under four category

Under white category a total of 168 industries are covered whose pollution index score is less than 20 few examples are as follow-

  • Assembling of air coolers/ air conditioner repairing and services
  •  
  • Assebling of bicycles, baby carriages and other small non motorizing vehicles
  •  
  • Bailing of waste paper

  • bio –pesticides or bio fertilizer without using inorganic chemicals

  • Biscuit trays etc from rolled pvc sheet

  •  

  • Blending and packing of tea

  •  

  • Chalk making from plaster of paris

  •  

  • Compressed oxygen gas from crude liquid oxygen

For registering under white category only an undertaking is required which is auto generated . when we register our self on gpcb website an automatic undertaking is generated .

  4. Bills of utility consumption such as electricity , water etc
  5. Gross value of plant and machinery to be certified by a chartered accountant . government fee will vary as per  initial capital contribution in the project
  6. Incorporation documents(MOA,AOA,COI)
  7. Site plan of business entity or approved location.
  8. Proof of ownership such as lease deed or rent agreement

 INDUSTRY UNDER GREEN CATEGORY

Under green category a total of 85  industries fall whose pollution index level is between 21 to 40 . example of these industries are-

Aluminium utensils from aluminium circles by pressing only

Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicine

Bakery /confectionary / sweet products

Bi axially oriented PP films along with matelizing operations

Biomass briquettes without using toxic hazardous waste

Bell metal Brass utensils manufacturing from circle

Candy

Corrugated and Cardboard box and paper products

Cement products (without using asbestos/ boiler/ steam curing)

NOTE- For establishing an entity under green category 2 prior consents are required

  • CTE( consent to establish)- CTE has to be taken by industries from the state pollution control board  for establishing their factories.
  • CTO(consent to operate)- consent to operate is also required whose validity period is 10 year. It can be less than 10 year depending on the period of operation.

INDUSTRY UNDER ORANGE CATEGORY

Under orange category a total of 89s industries are covered here whose pollution index falls between 41-59. Generally chemical related ,utensil related and printing units are covered . few examples of these industries are

Dismantling of rolling stocks

Battery and confectionary unit

Ladoo and Chanachur  from puffed and beaten rice

Coated electrode manufacturing

computer floppy, Compact disc and cassette manufacturing

Flakes from rejected PET bottle

Jute processing without dyeing

Manufacturing of silica gel

Manufacturing of tooth paste, tooth powder , telecum  powderSite plan of business entity or approved location.

NOTE – CTE  and CTO  consent is required.

 INDUSTRY UNDER RED CATEGORY

Under the red category a total of 85industries are covered whose pollution index is more than 59.few examples of red category industries are-

  • Isolated storage of hazardous chemical
  • Automobile Manufacturing
  • Manufacturing of lubricant oil ,grease and petroleum based products
  • Industrial carbon including electrodes ,and graphite blocks activated carbon ,carbon black
  • Lead acid battery manufacturing
  • Phosphate rock processing  plant
  • Power generation plant
  • Sugar excluding khandsari.
  • Fibre glass production and processing

REGISTRATION PROCESS- For registering here applicant will have to visit the official site of gujrat government which is www.gpcb..gujrat.gov.in. Thereafter follow the requisite procedure as specified by gpcb website.

FEE STRUCTURE –THERE IS NOT ANY FIXED FEE STRUCTURE IT VARY FROM INDUSTRY SIZE , CAPITAL INVESTMENT  AND ON OTHER RELEVANT FACTOR.
