ISO 14001:2015

Introduction

ISO 14001:2015 specifies the environmental management system requirements that can be used by a company to enhance its environmental efficiency. ISO 14001:2015 is intended for use by an organization seeking to systematically manage its environmental responsibilities which contribute to the sustainability pillar of the environment.

ISO 14001:2015 helps an organization achieve the intended results of its environmental management system, which provides environmental, organizational, and stakeholder value. In accordance with the environmental policy of the organization, the expected outcomes of an environmental management program include:

• Improving environmental performance;
• fulfillment of compliance obligation
• Achieving environmental objective

SO 14001:2015 applies to any organization, regardless of size, form, and nature, and refers to the environmental aspects of its operations, goods, and services that may be controlled or influenced by the organization in the context of a life cycle perspective. ISO 14001:2015 does not specify clear requirements for environmental results.

ISO 14001:2015 should be used as continuously improve environmental protection, in whole or in part. However, compliance statements according to ISO 14001:2015 are not acceptable unless all of its criteria are integrated into the environmental management framework of an organization and met without exclusion.

Any entity that wishes to set up develops or maintains an environmental management system in compliance with its established environmental policy and requirements should be using ISO 14001:2015. Standard requirements can be incorporated into any environmental management system, the extent to which is determined by several factors including industry, environmental policy, products and service offerings, and location of the organization.

ISO 14001:2015 refers to all organizations, irrespective of scale, location, sector, or industry.

Procedure and Documentation

STEP 1 learn about ISO 14001 standards

STEP 2 Perform initial Environmental Review & Gap Analysis

STEP 3 Plan & Educate your organization

All organization employees need to be trained to work with the ISO 14001 EMS (Environmental Management system)

STEP 4 Design and document your procedure

Design and document the environmental manual and procedures according to ISO 14001. The large part of the project looks at the current processes and redesigns them to satisfy all acceptable standards. Once processes have been changed or developed to meet the norm, you'll need to monitor those processes.

STEP 5 Auditing

After all documentation and procedural, auditing will be done and under this auditor, the auditor will review all the workings of the organization and may suggest some changes which need to be done for the certification
