    Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)

    Introduction

    It is a government agency established in 1985 as a result of an act that is export development authority act 1986 for agricultural processed food products.

    The product listed under the APEDA Act is called schedule products, and APEDA licensed exporters of such products are required. It provides guidance, information, financial support, for the production of scheduled goods.

    Its goal is to promote the export schedule of goods, and this body has undertaken these various functions under central government regulation. The central government sets the rules and regulations and implements the effective administration of the APEDA Act through this body.

    Function of APEDA

     

    âž² Exporters of scheduled products registration.

    âž² Providing and setting up the rule and regulations for the scheduled products.

    âž² Development of the scheduled product and promotion of export-oriented production and.

    âž² Improvising the marketing and packaging of scheduled products.

    âž² Conducting inspection for the purpose of ensuring the quality of such a product.

    âž² Training the various aspects of industries connected with the scheduled products.

    âž² Development of industries relating to scheduled products and undertaking surveys, feasibility studies etc.

     

    APEDA is required to promote the export and grow a scheduled commodity such as fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, etc.

    Who needs APEDA registration

    APEDA registration is required as it is responsible for promoting exports and developing scheduled products such as vegetables, fruit, poultry products, meat, dairy products, biscuits, confectionery, bakery products, jaggery, honey and sugar products, chocolates, cacao products, floriculture products, pickles, papads, and chutneys, etc.

    The applicant will apply the application form for registration under APEDA within 1 month from the business date of the undertaking. If the exporter of the scheduled goods fails to file within the time limit because of a reasonable excuse, only the authority can exclude that date.

    If any Agri-producer wishes to export their product then it is mandatory to take get registered under APEDA.

    Registration process

    Step 1 Register through the APEDA Website. (Click "Register as a User" on the Home Page link).

     

    Step 2 The exporter must first enter and send, the basic information, IE CODE, Email ID & Mobile number.

     

    Step 3 An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent on Email and Mobile number to confirm the information. Exporters will enter the mobile OTP and e-mail on the verification screen to validate both and then press Submit to submit.

     

    Step 4 Exporters will be expected to fill out an online application and upload the correct documents after confirmation of verification. The documents need only be in the formats JPEG, PDF, or PNG. The exporter will carefully enter all of the necessary information and ensure that correct information is provided in the online application form.

     

    Step 5 On-line application can be completed in one or more sessions by revisiting the website using E-mail and Mobile's given OTP (One Time Password). After filling out the fields, the exporter may use the Save button to save the details in between. When an online payment is made, the exporter can’t edit the data filled in.

     

     Step 6 Exporters can apply for registration fees of Rs. 5000/- excluding taxes = Rs. 5900/- (with GST) by using either of the following methods:- Online

    • Credit Card(MasterCard and Visa) Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa) Offline

    • DD in favor of"APEDA" payable in the respective cities of APEDA offices (Note:- APEDA GST No. – 07AAJA1150H1ZU)

    Step 7 A request number will be generated after the completion of the Payment process. For future reference please mention the application number.

     

    Step 8 Login information is sent to the exporter's registered email upon issuance of RCMC. The Exporter may use the "Exporter Login" link provided on the APEDA website to log in to their account.

     

    Step 9 By sending the IE code and application number before it is released, the exporter can display the status of the RCMC application by clicking on the "Track Application" button to show the request status

     

    Step 10 The exporter will be allowed to resubmit the document electronically in the event of any shortcomings being noticed in the application. Exporters are therefore expected to track the status of the RCMC application as notified in Step10 above

     

    Documents required

     

    âž² Copy of import-export code issued by the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT)  (Self-certified)

    âž² Bank certificate duly signed by the authorities.

    âž² If the applicant firm is a company then submit a self-attested copy of MOA & AOA; if the applicant is a partnership firm then submit the self-attested copy of the partnership deed, and if the applicant is registered society or association then submit the AOA and MOA.

    âž² Bank statement of the bank a/c of the firm (for the last 2month)

    âž² Canceled cheque.
